The town's called Hohenheim and the kid is me ...
Despite sitting in a livestock health and disease course since Easter yesterday was freshmen day. During welcoming speech the auditorium hosted exactly seven master students ... probably the only ones who aren't HH bachelors on their way up the academic ladder. Campus tour with a gaggle of half baked bachelors moving slow and asking very intelligent questions read off index cards. No dreads, no mohawks, hardly any coloured shawls, corduroys, chucks or doc martens. I think I'm homesick.
Very patient staff though. After screaming at the lady in the application office because my student card still hadn't arrived she managed to tell me quite unemotional to fill in the hundred-and-eleventh form in order to get registered. What I did eventually hoping for my almighty chip card to appear at last.
Being here Witzenhausen seems somewhat well established: Curricula published in time and easy to see through. Website up to date. Challenging courses with students' participation. Clear structures and regulations. Exciting lectures where you sort of know beforehand what you're approaching - or what's approaching you ;-) An idea of what master studies should be like ... I'll take my time to properly judge HH, but I tell you what: Wiz can definitely keep up with this if not more.
